Text Box: BACK to calendar

As usual, local members will want to meet for the potluck dinner before judging.  Bring a dish/dessert.  Everyone is invited—it’s always a good time to visit with folks, and of course try samples of mead during the judging.

The 2009 Domras Cup Mead Competition will be an AHA sanctioned competition open to all home meadmakers.  No professional or commercial entries are accepted.  All styles of Meads will be accepted (Style 24 Traditional Mead, Style 25 Melomel, and Style 26 Other Mead).  Entrants should provide if the entry is 1) still, petulant, or sparkling, 2) if it is dry, semi-sweet, or sweet, and/or 3) if it is hydromel, standard or sack strength.  Categories & Subcategories may be combined for judging, at the competition organizer’s discretion.  Meads will be judged according to the subcategories in which they were submitted.

Ribbons will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners of each category.  A  “Best of Show” round will follow with all category style winners competing against each other for additional prizes and the BOS cup.
