Savannah Brewers League

Homebrew Club

Welcome

The Savannah Brewers League is an informal group of fellow homebrewers with a passion for making beer, cider, mead and wine.  Founded in 1993, the club serves as a haven for homebrewers throughout the Low Country and Coastal Empire in and around Savannah, Georgia.  The purpose of the club is to share ideas, recipes, techniques, and stories, all in pursuit of making excellent beer.

We meet the first Wednesday of each month beginning at 7:30 p.m. downstairs at Moon River Brewing Company at 21 West Bay Street in historic downtown Savannah.

All levels of Zymurgists are welcome — from beginners to advanced all-grain experts.  We are an AHA-registered homebrew club.  Come join us for a session!

Not all chemicals are bad. Without chemicals such as hydrogen and oxygen, for example, there would be no way to make water, a vital ingredient in beer.

You know you're a homebrewer if...

. . . you don't think that 10 gallons of beer is a lot.

. . . you've ever used a mop on a ceiling.

. . . you see the acronym R.D.W.H.A.H.B. and know what it means.

. . . it started out as a hobby then ended up as a habit.

. . . you have more varieties of beer on tap than your local bar does.

. . . you hate to wash the family dishes, but think nothing about standing over a sink for hours cleaning empty bottles.

. . . you buy beer according to ease of label removal or the type of bottle it comes in.

. . . you can name at least 10 different varieties of hops, but can't name 10 congressmen.

. . . you refuse to pay $8.00 for a beer in a restaurant because you can make 5 gallons for that much.

. . . the only time you clean your kitchen is just before brewing a new batch.
