Committee Discussion

Brew News

The Tybee Blonde has been changed a little bit. The water profile was altered slightly to mimic the profile in Cologne and the hop schedule was changed while keeping the IBUs the same. All bittering and whirlpool hops were added at 170 degrees then the wort was brought to a boil.

Treasurer’s Report

Gene gave his report to the members which included the general budget and the Domras Cup 2025 budget.

Allison made a motion to donate $250 from Domras Cup to the Ronald McDonald House. It was seconded by Chandler and passed unanimously.

Barrel Committee

  • Barrel 1 – The Duchesse Red
  • Barrel 2 – Lambic
  • Both barrels are outside for now while the garage gets a remodel.

Merch

  • The merchandise website is up and running. So far, there are Domras Cup shirts and St. Patrick’s Day shirts for sale. John is working on getting plain SBL shirts listed as well. The cost is $10 per month to keep the website up and running.

Competitions

  • ReBrew – 15 JUL, Service Brewing. There is 140 gal of water at Coastal Empire. We need 9 participants to brew a 5gal batch of beer at or below 6% ABV. Ingredient costs will be covered if you order from Henry. Participants should bring 2 bottles of their beer to the July monthly meeting for BJCP judging. The winner of the BJCP judging and the People’s Choice will be announced at the event. If interested, members should sign up on FaceBook.

Old Business

Vince has one ice cider and a barrel aged French cider that he brought back from his trip. No class date has been set yet.

Kristen paid for Dream Host web hosting and got a three-year deal that was better than the amount approved by the members at the last meeting. She will send a follow-up message in a couple weeks.
