  New Secretary – Frank Russo has become the new secretary

Due to the high cost of shipping it was decided to use stemless glass for the category winners.

Midday in the garden of ales and lagers.  Will need 25 volunteers for the beer fest in the beer garden

If you volunteered last year you will get a request via email to serve again.  Members can register to volunteer at the August meeting.

MoonRiver will be brewing a Belgian Table Beer by Gene Edwards, ProAM winner.

Treasurer’s Report (Gene)

Paid member count is 60-75.  

Club has $7595. in the bank

2023 Domras cup finals $1590 Budget $1753 cost.

National Homebrew Conference in Pittsburg, Pa (Gene)

  • SBL had the most kegs at NHC, everyone raved about the old burin 
  • Not all were finished most were down to ⅓ or ¼
  • may need more signs next time, plus more swag.

A new whiskey  barrel was obtained thanks to David little.

Need to open and decide to add more bourbon to it and plan for a brew soon

5 members brewed on May 7th but only 4 beers were brought for the Comp.

The Comp will be at the July Stammtisch at Cheryl and Dave Holesovsky house in Richmond Hill

Judges need to be there at 1 pm

Also I plan on creating a new sticker for the participants of the barrel projects. 

We need new/more stickers for the club

Registrar ( Volunteer Needed) 

If you are interested in shadowing Scott for the registrar position please contact him.  

He is looking for help with the 2024 Domras Cup and then to take over.

Without volunteers to fill the club positions we won’t have much of a club.  It doesn’t take up much of your time.  If you are enjoying being a member of the SBL, please consider a volunteer position.

SBL will buy two pitchers of beer from MR @ every meeting.

  • Bylaws have been changed
  • Brewer of the Year award / Competitor of the year in work. Final tally to be completed by Jan meeting. TJ has the barrel staves. Look into club email for reporting this stuff in the future. Any competitions outside of the COC/Domras should be self-reported to Sonja E. Email [email protected] to get her contact info.
  • WetlandsCenter in Richmond Hill cost 150$/day plus a 200$ deposit for Domras
